Platform 11+, Teatro o bando, Palmela, Portugal, 2010
If you approach the installation uphill, you can recognize an oversized bird’s nest under an olive tree. If you surround it, it appears to be closed and inaccessible, consisting of natural materials, twigs and branches that intertwine to shield the nest from the outside.
The only view into the nest can be gained from above, either by climbing a ladder leaning against the walls of the nest or by climbing the mountain and looking down. Inside there is a room with several distinct areas: a kitchen, a bedroom, a children’s room, a bathroom and a living room. The interior is inhabited by the artists, giving an insight into the daily microcosm of a family.[/vc_column_text][jig_vc]
