On the occasion of the conference “Protecting the Future – Preserving Diversity. Biological diversity as the basis for development”, which took place on September 15, 2010, in Berlin, together with Prinzessinnengarten, we organized a demonstration of plants trough the streets of Berlin Kreuzberg.
The rapid loss of biodiversity has dramatic consequences: Those who destroy biological diversity endanger the resources of countless people in developing countries as well as the economic and cultural development of the entire international community.
That’s why we were looking for people who wanted to move 100 shopping carts filled with different plants and herbs from the Umspannwerk in Ohlauer Str. to Moritzplatz across Kreuzberg. Each cart was decorated with a banner so that not only the conference participants, but also pedestrians and media were made aware of the topic.
